IVT team members honored with NASA’s 2019 Silver Achievement Medal
IVT team members, Nannette Stangle-Castor and Robyn Thomson were part of the Inventors Recognition team at NASA Glenn Research Center awarded the NASA Silver Achievement Medal. Specifically, the team was presented the award for:
Exceptional planning and execution of the Inventors Recognition Ceremony; a wonderful Center event and and event recognized as an Agency Best Practice.
As described by NASA’s Incentive Awards Board, “This prestigious NASA Silver Achievement Medal is awarded to Government and non-Government individuals or teams by NASA Center Directors for a stellar achievement that supports one or more of NASA’s Core Values, when it is deemed to be extraordinarily important and appropriate to recognize such achievement in a timely and personalized manner.”
IVT has been spearheading the Inventor Engagement initiative at NASA Glenn in collaboration with its civil servant leadership in the NASA Glenn Technology Transfer Office (TTO) for multiple years. IVT has provided strategy, communications, and implementation support. These efforts have resulted in recognition as best practices across the agency, as well as a significantly more broadly engaged inventor population that is reporting their innovations and working collaboratively with the TTO to transition technology outside of NASA for the benefit of all.
