How do we make sense of extremely complicated and technical concepts?
We partner with our clients to build an organization driven by outcomes. We work hard to unify their mindset, people actions, and communication. We provide technical translation to bridge the gaps between audiences. We are experts that come from diverse backgrounds, which enable us to deliver solutions from start to finish.
Create a culture change to meet objectives
NASA Glenn Research Center Technology Transfer Office
An organization’s culture drives outcomes. At InnoVector Tech we specialize in understanding an organization’s culture and determining how to drive it toward successful outcomes.
At NASA Glenn we discovered that a cultural change was needed in order to get more New Technology Report (NTR), i.e., invention disclosure, submissions. Across the organization submitting NTRs was looked upon as a time waster. To change this attitude across multiple divisions and management levels we worked with the Tech Transfer team to develop a comprehensive in-reach strategy and campaign. The foundation of this program was based upon understanding the viewpoints of stakeholders and creating communications pieces that worked to change their attitude and motivated action.
Since the implantation of the in-reach program we have seen a number of NTR submissions from new filers, people previously not engaged with the Tech Transfer Office. In addition, better relationships have been developed between the Tech Transfer Team, innovators, and management. These improved relationships create better collaboration and continue to drive a more positive environment and better metrics, which drive successful outcomes.
Record Breaking Technology Licensing Success at NASA
NASA Glenn Research Center Technology Transfer Office
The Licensing team at NASA’s Glenn Research Center achieved an extraordinary level of success in licensing NASA technology to external entities. In fact, the Glenn Technology Transfer Office (TTO) succeeded in executing an astonishing 23 licenses involving 51 technologies, partnering with companies in 9 different states. This licensing success represented not just a remarkable achievement for Glenn — it set an all-time Agency record for a NASA Center. These government-funded innovations are serving to stimulate the economy and promote job growth.
InnoVector Tech served as an integral part of the TTO Licensing Team. In our role we provided strategy development, licensing and negotiations support, portfolio assessments and management, marketing content and strategies, and innovator engagement support. Some details on this success can be found in the Innovation article, Rocket Science May be Coming to a Business Near You.
A Focused Message Drives Wanted Outcomes
NASA Glenn Research Center Technology Transfer Office
InnoVector Tech excels at simplifying and aligning messages for our clients so that they get a better ROI from their communications. NASA Glenn’s Technology Transfer Office wanted to significantly increase licensing at their Center. So in their presentations, website, Twitter accounts, and marketing materials (banners, brochures, etc.), we put in place unified messaging that focused on driving more licensing of their innovative technologies. We also developed one-page flyers on their licensing types so that the TTO could better “sell” their products and customers could clearly understand how to engage with the TTO.
Enhancing Stakeholder Engagement
Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative
Communicating effectively with your stakeholders is essential. Across all industry sectors, text heavy communications are standard – annual reports being one of these. For the Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative (CTTI), InnoVector Tech guided the client to a more direct, engaging, and impact-oriented annual report format. This change made the accomplishments of CTTI more easily and widely accessible, as well as saving resources for writing, design, and printing costs compared to a more standard approach.
Tool to Drive Implementation and Change Behavior
Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative
Organizations driving policy changes often develop many reports to gather best practices and develop recommendations. Turning these research results and recommendations into behavioral change is a challenge. The Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative had completed a significant amount of research on best practices to increase the quality and efficiency of clinical trials. InnoVector Tech worked in collaboration with the CTTI Quality by Design (QbD) team to conceptualize, design, and implement an online “one size fits all” QbD Toolkit to bring these recommendations into practice to the wider clinical trials community.
Unified Marketing and Social Media Efforts to help Raise $1 Million
North Carolina Triangle to the Coast Affiliate of Susan G. Komen®
InnoVector Tech was honored to be charged with rolling out a new “Faces of Komen” campaign for the North Carolina Triangle to the Coast Affiliate of Susan G. Komen®. The primary goal of this campaign was to establish a more inclusive, year-round engagement with volunteers, donors, sponsors, board members, community organizers, media, and breast cancer survivors and caregivers. To accomplish this objective, we developed a comprehensive engagement strategy that addressed marketing, communication, and company operations.
The effective and strategic use of social media was a major focus of this campaign and proved to be especially successful at the 2014 Triangle Race for the Cure, which was held in collaboration with local TV station WRAL. Communicating Value With Your Website
Safe Space Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Program
Like many nonprofits, Safe Space has limited resources with which to meet an endless need for their services. In order to better reach clients, donors, and volunteers, InnoVector Tech strategized with their Executive Director and board members to develop a plan to engage these groups more efficiently and effectively. In addition to other communication tools, we designed and implemented a new website. This low-maintenance website provides:
- specific requests for donations and volunteer opportunities
- resources for those experiencing domestic violence and/or sexual assault
- Spanish translation button to ensure communication with the Latino community
- escape button that changes the web page and clears the browser history
